Pocket versus Polar

I’ve used Pocket (aka getpocket) since before I can remember! Its simple integration with devices like iPhone very early on like iPhone) made it my choice for bookmarking valuable articles that I was worried about forgetting or valuable blogs whose content might disappear from the web alltogether!

Yet today I’ve found Polar (aka getpolarized) which has the potential so be the next iteration private learning, retention and all around excellence. It even has a plugin to anki!

The darnedest thing is that both these products had to use alternative names for their websites and even those are ripe for a direct comparison - getpocket vs getpolarized. Given that these technologies address the same way of personal productivity and competence … its just too much of a coincidence for me!

Wishful Thinking

I wonder if there is a workflow to bring over my history from pocket into polar.

Or maybe for the pocket folks to start incorporating the open source features of polar into their own platform 🤷🏾‍♂️
